Miss Rachel is so full of life! I have photographed her a few times in her 1.5 of life, and she has so much personality. I spent the better half of the morning chasing her around, all while she managed to show me the art of avoiding eye contact with the camera. :) What finally worked was me playing a Yo Gabba Gabba song on youtube on my phone. Thank goodness for smart phones! She was captivated for at least 5 minutes with that!

She brought along her cousin Lorraine for a few pictures too. Lorriane was such a big help for me! She was so good with Rachel.

I&B, enjoy your sneak peek!

On saying goodbye…

November 26, 2010

We have lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Most importantly for me this year, the opportunity to know Ralph Leary. My husband’s grandfather was an amazing man who was loved and cared for by so, so many people.

Grandpa Ralph passed peacefully in his sleep late this evening, and I feel so blessed we were able to be with him one last time today on Thanksgiving. My children will not remember any of this, but it meant so much to him to see them again today.

I owe him more than this, but this is all I can give for now. May you rest peacefully grandpa Ralph. We have a new angel in Heaven watching over our family. We love you and will miss you so much.

Jenn: Thoughts and prayers go to your family.

brandy: I could only imagine how peaceful he was when leaving this earth. Knowing that you have a growing loving family to carry on his name helped him more than any of us could know/understand. The boys will always remember by the stories and morals you keep alive. Love you.

I am 29 weeks pregnant. How did this pregnancy fly by so quickly? I guess I just don’t have time to think about it much while working and taking care of 2 other kiddos. Like the other pregnancies, this one has been so good to me (so far).

I cannot wait to meet our third baby boy. Come February, we are going to have quite a full house!

And my attempt at a self portrait. I am SO not used to being on this side of the camera.

Do you shop on Black Friday? My husband and I always find something we just have to have. Every year. I haven’t seen anything in particular yet that has caught my eye, but then again I haven’t really browsed the preview ads, or even made a Christmas list. (!!!)

Anyways, keep your eyes peeled for a Black Friday (or possibly Cyber Monday) deal coming to the blog…I’ll have a preview up by Wednesday!

(and I realize I didn’t blog yesterday…I just am proud I made it this far in NaBloPoMo).

Out of the office

November 20, 2010

I meant to blog yesterday. I really did. My little Kingston had a minor accident and we spend most of the night monitoring him closely (thank goodness no trips to the ER). He did give us quite a scare though!

I will be out of town until Monday, so please be patient as I might be a little slow to respond to emails.I will be taking my laptop and blogging though!

My mom is a good great cook. I really should have paid more attention to her in the kitchen while I was growing up. Now that I have my own family to feed, I find myself barking up her tree for her recipes all the time. My attempts don’t always turn out quite as appetizing as hers, but I’m getting there.

Tonight I made a crowd favorite. Lasagna. This recipe takes a long time, so I only make it 1-2 times a year. I would share the recipe on here, but my mom might kill me if I did. :)

So just enjoy the picture. Is your mouth watering yet?

We had company over for dinner tonight. I served Eric’s plate and sat it at his table (when his friends are over, they get to sit at his kids table) to cool down while I stuck the bread in the oven. I returned to the dining room to find Kingston digging into Eric’s plate. No wonder why he was being so quiet…;) Guess he is a fan of grandma’s recipes too!

I get e-mails often asking technical questions about my photography. I do not claim to be a guru on any subject, but if I can help out a couple people, I will consider it a success!

I don’t always have time to give well thought out answers via e-mail, so I am opening up this blog to questions. Shoot me an e-mail if you have a question (from camera settings to lighting to posing,etc..) and I will answer it on the blog sometime next week or so. I will not answer business related questions, so please do not ask. :)

ig: I have read so many posts concerning the blogger lovers but this piece of writing is genuinely a nice piece of writing, keep it up.

We went to visit some friends today who just gave birth to their first son one week ago today. I couldn’t get enough of his scrumptious cheeks! More to come to the blog later, I’m calling it a night.

gerald: These look amazing val, I hope you guys are having a great holiday.

This is definitely my favorite time of the day. I got lucky today and Kingston napped twice. That just does not happen anymore. I left him on my bed while I started a load of laundry, and came back to find him passed out. It wasn’t even noon! I sure was not going to wake a sleeping toddler though! (Oh gosh it’s hard to refer to my baby as a toddler)
