I am now offering one on one mentoring sessions for those seeking to learn the art of “Newborn Photography”.
Sessions begin around 10 am and last roughly till 4 pm.
Sessions take place at one of my predetermined locations.
A typical session looks like:
10-11 am - PREP: Ready equipment & props, discuss lighting in the particular situation and those to come. We will go over working with your camera; specific settings and different lenses. Each participant will need to come prepared with a DSLR and be comfortable shooting in “Manual” (M). While I shoot most newborns with a 50mm 1.4, a 50mm 1.8 is sufficient and recommended for the workshop.
11-2 pm - SHOOT: We will work through a typical newborn session including how to safely achieve those sleepy newborn poses. We will also go over how to best soothe a newborn back to deep sleep and keep them comfortable. You will have the chance to shoot along side me, as I show you how to pose a newborn. We will attempt any poses I have in my portfolio as long as the baby appears to be sleepy enough.
2-4 pm - PROCESS: I will go over my digital work-flow in Photoshop from downloading to print-ready shots. All workshop participants will need to have a basic knowledge of photo editing software, preferably Photoshop CS3 or higher. I encourage you to bring your personal laptop with software to the session if possible.
The cost of the mentoring session is $400. To reserve a date, or for any other questions, please feel free to e-mail me at email@example.com
***If there is enough interest in one particular month, I may offer a group mentoring workshop, lasting from roughly 9 am- 6 pm. Group workshops will be provided two models as well as lunch. Group workshops will be limited to four students.***
